Position Purpose 

The Document Specialist position will be collecting our clients' documents based on case type from either the client or the corresponding Office of Vital Statistics. 
 

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities 

  • Work with clients to obtain all the necessary documents required for their case 

  • Review the quality and accuracy of all documents and photos that are sent in by the client via mail or email. 

  • Label all documents received and follow up with the client on any missing documents 

  • Determine which documents received can be used in the submission of the client’s case 

  • Send any documents not in English to the translation team. 

  • Update the Document Log and enter notes in the case management system accurately and timely. 

  • Utilize questionnaire to interview the persons who will provide the letter of support in the event the reference does not want to create it themselves. 

  • Ensure all submitted Letters of Support match criteria 

  • Once everything is received and reviewed, request the final review of the documents from the Paralegal assigned to the client case. 

  • Rotate responsibility to review and process the documents email inbox with team 

  • If needed, contact prior attorneys to obtain client files from previous immigration proceedings. 

  • Assist with the final determination of which documents will be filed with the client’s case 

  • Make any updates to packets as needed after the attorney review 

  • Review returned cases to provide information to the paralegal team about rejections from USCIS.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bilingual (Spanish English) –B2 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience

  • Tuesday-Friday, 2pm-11pm Eastern time, Saturday 10am-7pm Eastern time
