Position Overview
The Legal Clerk Group Lead will oversee the Legal Clerk team that perform administrative tasks to support the Legal and Operations team with the in-office aspects of case flows for all phases in the case handling process. This individual will be accountable for developing processes, procedures, and trainings, as well as ensuring that departmental goals align with the overall objectives of the organization. Additionally, the candidate should have strong operational and quality standards and be fluent in English, both speaking and writing; prefer bilingual in Spanish.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Accountable for overseeing the Legal Clerk team by providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high performance
- Facilitate team meetings and 1:1’s to review questions and any process updates
- Accountable for facilitating skip-level meetings with indirect reports to support developing and improving processes
- Oversee and ensure appropriate training and development is being provided to team members
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPI’s) for Legal Clerk team and ensure that Team Leads are tracking performance with their teams
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for highly complex, unique, or complicated client concerns or questions, ensuring a timely resolution
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the legal clerk process for our clients. May be responsible for leading process improvement initiatives
- Review and approve SOPs and documentation processes utilized by team members as well as ensure that team understands and utilizes new ways of working
- Oversee and support team member’s training and development
Essentials Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Possesses excellent English interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; prefer bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to identify and implement improved processes and recommend solutions to leadership
- Demonstrated experience working with governmental forms or similar documentation processes required
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions that optimize outcomes and drive business success
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous leadership experience required
- Previous legal assistance or immigration law experience required
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Dropbox, Sharepoint, or CRM
