Position Purpose 

The Senior Staff Attorney will lead a team of Staff Attorneys. This role will be responsible for onboarding and training new Staff Attorneys. The candidate will manage Staff Attorney performance including identifying coaching opportunities, providing feedback, and working with Team Members to improve. The candidate will also lead daily operational huddles. The Senior Staff Attorney will have a partial workload of immigration tasks and help review various types of immigration applications. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, able to follow detailed instructions, and motivated to help our clients obtain documents and stay united with their families.  There is an opportunity for career growth and additional responsibilities with strong performance. 

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities 

  • Lead daily huddles for Staff Attorneys 

  • Train new staff attorneys 

  • Review and coach Staff Attorneys on performance including improving efficiency 

  • Review draft immigration applications pursuant to Standard Operating Procedures  

  • Identify, track, and make necessary edits prior to submission  

  • Represent clients in USCIS interviews across the country 

  • Clearly communicate to other team members regarding edits  

  • Meet daily goals on reviewing cases and other immigration work 

  • Perform legal research on immigration law topics  

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities 

  • Ability to follow detailed directions  

  • Experience using a case management software system preferred  

  • Interest in immigration law preferred  

  • Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family  

  • Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management -  

  • DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)   

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar  

  • Preferred 1 year of immigration experience
